The Unicorn in Camden is hosting Punk’n’Roll Rendez-Vous #68 on Saturday with a great line up of acts, including Starsha Lee, Healthy Junkies, PussyWillowFurryVenus and more. Free entry.

Another fab lineup at The Shacklewell Arms on Wednesday, with A Void, Living Dead Girl and Butterflies on Pins. Should be worth the midweek hangover.

The Murder Capital start a tour in Southampton on Saturday, with a lot of gigs around the UK and Ireland over the next month or two. Some of the dates are sold out so get on it ASAP if you’re keen.

Wildcard event here: music journalist and ‘punk professor’ Vivien Goldman will be talking about her feminist history of punk music at the Social on Wednesday. The panel also includes Zoe Howe, Tessa Pollitt from The Slits and author Celeste Bell (daughter of the inimitable Poly Styrene), making for a really fascinating evening.

Get yourself to Leeds on Friday or Sunderland on Saturday for a night of old school punk with Angelic Upstarts, Red Alert and Red London.

Festival season is going strong, and it’s the turn of 2000trees this week. A huge range of interesting bands, big and small, including The St. Pierre Snake Invasion, Frauds, Møl, Haggard Cat, False Heads, and on and on. I can’t guarantee that Chris Martin won’t turn up, though, so consider yourself warned.
