Screw Xmas shopping – go to gigs instead!

This is a great double bill: Phobophobes and Guru take to the stage at The Hope & Ruin in Brighton on Tuesday night.

My geography is notoriously bad so I don’t know where Bury St Edmunds is, but it’s worth getting there on Saturday if possible for the last Washing Machine club night of the year. Music from Gaffa Tape Sandy, Beach Riot, Cutting Ties and more. Cheaper if you buy in advance.

Dizraeli’s tour starts on Tuesday, taking in Birmingham, Bristol, Totnes and London this week.

Calva Louise carry on their short run of shows this week in Glasgow, Birmingham and London. Gaygirl are supporting.

Bad Breeding also have a short tour of their own, reaching Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester and London. The sold-out Moth Club show also includes Metz and John, so keep a very keen eye out for any returned tickets.

Also good for Manchester readers is the Flat World Theory show in Salford on Saturday. Support comes from Palava, The Battery Farm and Hollywood Eyes.

The Widows support Johnny Moped at The Water Rats on Saturday. Includes a conversation with Tony Drayton about zine culture in the ‘70s, which is pretty cool.

Free entry at the Old Blue Last on Tuesday for Fabricators, Nerves and Slender Pins.

Also free entry at the Shacklewell Arms on Sunday for Fake Turins, Mamuthones and Sons of Viljems.

This sounds intriguing. Strange Bones are part of an ‘interactive AV landscape’ on Friday at Werkhaus.
