Those attuned to the ever-vibrant Cambridge Hip hop scene will no doubt already be acquainted with the names Sonny Mac and Mr Byte. Previously part of Lean In The Evening, a crew consisting of the two MC’s along with Harvs, KLB and Bill Green, now disbanded as its members work on solo projects. Well Mr Byte & Sonny Mac have been holding it down together, supporting an array of UK legends such as Chester P, Skinnyman, Klashnekoff and Dirty Dike, and are now finally ready to release their mutant musical offerings out into the world.

Last month debuted the first video drop from this pair of ‘complete and utter wastemen’ and the track Lucidity sees the two Cambridge rappers go in hard over a beat that is just as jazzy as it is spacey and electric. One part Hip hop, one part Grime and one part who knows what. Mr Byte & Sonny Mac have released Lucidity through their own label Waste Mangmt, and there’s more to come from these two, so watch this space.
