Cannibal Animal’s frantic and unhinged ‘A Decline in Morality’ sticks with you like a louse to a filthy body. The wild and ever-increasing tempo of the music mirrors the lyrical content as Cannibal Animal take you from your empty and mundane day job to your dark nympho-cannibal alter ego. Despite the fact that the most recent offering from Hull’s post-punk quartet bears little likeness to generic thriller movie soundtracks, it genuinely does a better job of putting you on edge than most modern-day horrors. The band themselves like to think that any ridiculous B-movie horror novels suit the tone of the EP. They, therefore, recommend that you turn all your lights off, sit down and burn the book, your house and the EP.
