New signing ‘Modern Rituals’ are certainly one of Holy Roar Records’ stranger offerings. The first single and title track from upcoming album ‘Hermit Kuppling’ tells the story of a man who never stopped giving speeches. Even when no one was listening. Josh Bannister’s music video for the track features a series of bizarre fragmented images including what look like children’s drawings, magazine model cut-outs and eyeless porcelain dolls… Needless to say, Modern Rituals are a band pretty hard to pin down with a single description.

If the oddball alternative indie 4-piece are your thing, get yourself to what is looking to be an epic album release show in their hometown of Bristol this coming June. Northerners don’t feel too hard done by as you can catch them on tour in the lead up to their album release in Sheffield, Nottingham or Leeds.

Modern Rituals have three shows this month with Human Cell in the Midlands and North:

19 APR / Nottingham – JT Soar
20 APR / Sheffield – Delicious Clam HQ
21 APR / Leeds – Chunk
