Legpuppy continue to battle against 21st Century self-involvement culture. What began in ‘Selfie-Stick: Narcissistic Prick’ continues in this blatant assault on people’s obsession with mobile phones.

Apart from the fun outtakes at the end of the video (featuring members of Weird Sex, The Sly Persuaders, Terminal Gods and Hotgothic) the shots of outstretched hands tip-tapping away at their phone … while the gallery they’re in is sped through unappreciated. Such shots help further define the unrest in frontman Darren Laurence’s soul. Beneath the roar and cheer of this entertainer, the ringleader of the musical circus that is Legpuppy has always given in to the compulsion to call out cracks in social interaction. And long may that continue.

Quirky and well-observed footage aside, the track is every bit as propulsive and economical as the recent ‘Meds & Beer’ (Still their best song, but ‘Twit Machine’ is a plucky Rocky I to ‘Meds & Beers’ Apollo Creed). Live performances of the track ought to be full of the usual hijinks and social observations. Get off your Twit Machine and open your hearts to the digital underground.
