Yes, it’s January and we’re all broke and (maybe) a bit partied out, but that doesn’t mean we should just sit at home feeling sorry for ourselves. Check out these gigs for the week of 7 – 13 January to help you start 2019 right.

Exploding Head Sessions return to the Shacklewell Arms on the 9th of January for session 15, featuring punk sets from Witch Fever and Scout Leader, and the organ-driven sinister psyche rock of Something Leather. Tickets are free so there’s no excuse for any Londoners out there to be missing this one.

For more punk and psychedelia, head to the Monarch in Camden on the 11th for music from Healthy Junkies, Pretty Pistol, Dead At Eleven and Dutch Mustard.

If the festive period has left you needing something gentler, the Victoria is hosting a free gig from Glaswegian indie popsters Life Model, with support from The Tubs.

Old school punks Subhumans are doing a short run of shows this January, stopping in London, Bristol, Plymouth and Abertillery.
