We love Spünday but we don’t understand what the fuck it is. And maybe we don’t want to know because we love to be surprised.

What we do know though, is that they fully understand Millenials, post-internet aesthetics and communication, hence they are already on TikTok. And all this is pretty rare for a guitar band that is punk at the core.

Spünday is a chaotic collapse of ‘apparently’ unrelated sounds, lyrics and iconography. Or as they say: ‘Mirroring the confusion like a security guard in a revolving door.’

Their latest EP is a collab with producers Set Phasers to Scunge, and once again, it sounds different from their precedent works. The vocal samples are as usual quite eclectic. You will hear Maya Angelou reciting a few lines from her famous poem Rise and ex-CIA operative quoting William Burroughs.

If we were a punk band, we would definitely want to be Spünday.
