A trifecta of tremendous twos

I don’t know what it is about the power of three which is so appealing to me right now, but again I am coming with a triple drop – this time from three different pairs of artists. Let’s do this in chronological order then.

Verbz & Mr Slipz have recently signed to High Focus Records and with this brought a selection of short singles. On November 13 these two will drop their second collaborative album which has been drawn up over the last two years or so and promises to continue in their chilled out, boom-bap-esc kind of style.

Onto another notorious UK hip hop label; Blah Records’ Sly Moon is set to release his debut album ‘Why Am I So Sly’, teaming up with Salar as Sohio Players for the production. The early release single ‘Why Am I So Sly’ is out on Blah’s Youtube now and features a welcome return from Sly Moon in front of the camera, courtesy of Loudhouse’s Honey JD, for two verses of impeccable funk. The LP will be out November 30.

Guess we will finish where we started, so back to High Focus we go. Verb T and Illinformed dropped ‘The Man with The Foggy Eyes’ back in 2015, at the time one of my favourite albums. Now, over five years on, the classy couple have recaptured the jazzy, easy listening vibe in the imaginatively titled ‘The Land of The Foggy Skies’. With singles ‘Nothing Is New’ and ‘New Paths’ already out you can get a sample of the project which won’t be landing until December 11.
